What COLAB Math Is
COLAB Math (Co-created and Orchestrated Lesson Plan Builder for Math) is a human-centered math lesson plan builder. It is designed so that the educator remains the expert decision-maker at every step.
Human-Centered Design
COLAB Math is built on the principle that effective lesson planning requires human expertise. Throughout the entire process, educators are expected to:
- Evaluate and validate every recommendation from the system, including suggested activities, accommodations, resources, and instructional strategies
- Review, revise, or reject any content before accepting it into a lesson plan
- Apply professional judgment to their own contributions as well — all text inserted into a lesson plan, whether system-suggested or teacher-written, should reflect the educator's intentional decision
- Recognize that AI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate suggestions — the educator's expertise is essential for quality assurance

- Do not enter student personally identifiable information (PII) into the chat
Content & Attribution
COLAB Math provides Open Educational Resources (OER) as reference teaching materials for teachers to view and use in lesson planning. These OER materials are displayed under their respective Creative Commons licenses.
